Wildflower Art, Poetry, and Nature Multi-Day Class (4)

This class will focus on the beauty found in our natural environment. Students will observe, draw, paint, then write poetry about wild flowers. I hope this class encourages learners to travel and get outside in nature.

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will be shown a map of the regions where the teacher's wildflower photographs were taken.
Students will learn how to write cinquain and diamante style poetry.
Students will draw and paint a field of red poppies and a detailed wildflower in Georgia O'Keeffe style.
The teacher has a master's degree in Integrating Arts into the Curriculum and loves having a platform like Outschool to teach what she loves to enthusiastic students.
Students may need to put a finishing touch on their paintings after class.
For poetry on Day 2 and 4: Paper or writing journal, a pencil or pen, printout of teacher-provided poetry templates (if possible) Day 1 Art: Paper cut to 8"x8"(watercolor paper if available), watercolor paint, water, small and medium brushes, Sharpie marker, paper towel Day 3 Art: Paper (at least 8 1/2 x11"), red, black, yellow, bright blue, and green acrylic paint, small and medium brushes, water, paper towel ****A 9" x 12" canvas would work well for this painting project too
Near the end of class, students will have the option to share their art and poetry with peers. We will talk about what they love most about their art and give compliments to each other.
3 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
