Combining wilderness survival and science, students will develop their wilderness safety skills by developing their camping skills and learning more about each week's topic. Beginners are highly welcomed and encouraged! Want to learn more about Leave No Trace Ethics, plants, and wildlife identifications, how to stay warm at night, or how to prepare for a backpacking trip? Develop your outdoors skills as we spend time walking through examples each week and asking questions you may have to stay comfortable and safe. The format will be discussion-based and step-by-step instructions. The teacher will ask students questions throughout the lecture to receive feedback on the understanding of content and ensure all voices are being included and heard. The discussion will be based on the information learned during the lecture. In the materials section below, you can find everything that you will need for this class. The students will be honing and developing their skills by replicating example pictures they bring or use the ones provided each week.
