We’ll cover the scientific information behind domestic rabbits and some of the basics about their care. Since this is a live class, I will be showing students many of my own pet rabbits to demonstrate the variety of breeds available. I also will answer any general care and informational questions students have about these wonderful creatures. I will send two worksheets in advance. One worksheet with fill-in questions will help students remember the information they learn as I teach it....
I have been raising and showing rabbits since I was 11 years old (nearly 40 years ago). I absolutely love them! While I was in high school, I started a small animal program as part of the ag-science program I was in. Through that, I was able to take small animals, mostly rabbits, to the elementary schools to introduce and teach the students about them. Over the years, I have continued that concept through the 4H with my own children, and now we take a “Bunny Bus” to schools and libraries to show and teach children about these wonderful creatures.
2 files available upon enrollmentI will provide two worksheets. One will be a notes page and the other a creative coloring sheet. Students are encouraged to use the one during class to write down what they learn and send back the a copy of the coloring sheet or a photo that I can share at the end of the class. After class, the students can write or recite a story involving their bunny.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
