**Please be certain to read the Parental Guidance segment of the listing prior to registering for class.** I don't know about you, but I think the men of myth and legend get enough coverage and glory. It's time to focus on the women! We'll delve into Medusa, Mazu, Sekhmet, Pele, Morgan le Fay, Ala, and so many others both well and lesser known. We'll learn about the individuals, hear their stories, and discuss how we can ensure their stories are not lost or overshadowed by the stories of the men. Class will consist of lecture with graphics, video and audio clips, and discussion. Students are encouraged to participate meaningfully, but are never required to do so.

Parental Guidance
As part of Medusa's story, rape and virginity will be mentioned. Any questions about those topics will be directed back to parents. In addition, there will be talk of violence as part of the stories of some of these women. Parents with particularly sensitive students are encouraged to sit in.
