Class Experience
In this popular animal science class, students will learn about Tigers of Asia. We will learn facts and compare the habitat, characteristics, diet, family group and conservation status of this incredible Big Cat species. I will be using a presentation created using photo slides and asking interactive questions that will also integrate elements of geography, math and vocabulary into an animal science lesson designed to motivate natural curiosity. 1. Students will learn facts about the physical characteristics of Tigers, such as size, diet, habitat and characteristics. 2. Students will learn how scientists use these characteristics to compare and classify a species like the Tiger. 3. Students will learn why conservation of Tigers is so important and what is being done to prevent the total extinction of this species. 4. Students will learn new vocabulary words related to the study of Tigers and their Asian habitat.
Your child may be interested in learning more facts about the topic of Tigers and animal conservation. Great science enrichment for independent or homeschooled learners.

Note: A certificate and a Tiger fact and vocabulary sheet will be available for download in the classroom after class.
While there is not a formal assessment for this class, students will be learning concepts of animal science along with the opportunity to develop additional math, geography, vocabulary and creative thinking while learning facts about Tigers of Asia.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
