Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 5
Our Class Objective: In this popular animal science class, students will learn facts about Clouded Leopards of Asia. We will explore and compare their habitat, characteristics, diet, family group and conservation status.

During Class:
I will be using photo slides in a power point presentation and asking interactive questions that will also integrate elements of language arts, math and science vocabulary. All the facts included in this class have been researched through at least three current scientific resources and align with standards-based curriculum guides.

Class Activity: I will also include a downloadable template that will help students to identify and label the physical characteristics of a Clouded Leopard, either during or after class. Students may also use plain paper or a notebook if you are unable to print. You will find this download attached to the welcome message in the classroom and it is visible if you are logged in as the LEARNER.

Welcome to my classroom! My name is Jonathan. Here, you will find science classes that are both fun and engaging for your curious learner. All my classes were designed using standards-based elementary level concepts of science in order to help children develop the cognitive and academic skills needed to succeed in elementary school and beyond.

I have a BS degree in Sociology with an art minor and a TESOL certification. I also became a science teacher over six years ago, teaching first in an elementary school classroom setting before transitioning to the online teaching platform. I love doing this because being online enables me to teach an array of wonderful kids worldwide. My philosophy of education is that all children are unique, and their educational development is not a destination, but rather a journey. As a teacher, my mission is to guide children on that journey and help them to develop their very best abilities for their educational future.

I live in the USA with my wife and our two cats. When I’m not teaching, I’m usually spending time with my family or out walking my local nature trails. My hobbies are cooking, nature photography, juggling, and playing Pokémon Go. Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to teaching your child in the classroom.
