In this popular wild animal science class, kids will learn facts and vocabulary about the habitat, physical traits, and conservation status of Antarctic Blue Whales. Great as a science class for afterschool and homeschool students.

Class experience

US Grade 3 - 5
1. Students will learn facts about the physical characteristics of the Blue Whale such as size, diet, habitat and characteristics. 
2. Students will learn how scientists use these characteristics to compare and classify a species like the Blue Whale. 
3. Students will learn why conservation of Blue Whales is so important and what is being done to prevent the extinction of this species. 
4. Students will learn new vocabulary words related to the study of the Blue Whale and the ocean habitat.
Homework Offered
Your child may be interested in learning more facts about Blue Whales. This is a great science enrichment class for independent or homeschooled learners. A certificate and a Blue Whale fact, activity and vocabulary sheet will be available for download in the classroom after class.

Assessments Offered
There is not a formal assessment for this class, but students will be learning concepts of science along with the opportunity to develop additional math, geography, vocabulary and creative thinking while learning about Blue Whales. A certificate and a Blue Whale fact, activity and vocabulary sheet will be available for download in the classroom after class.
