Wild About Creative Writing: Radio Scripts Summer Camp
In this 4-day summer camp, students will learn about the history of radio and the importance of radio as a source of entertainment. We will also read and perform radio scripts for each other and try out different sound effects.

Class Experience
I have a master's degree in education and Montessori certification, plus over 20 years of elementary classroom experience. I enjoy fostering creativity while guiding students to become stronger writers. In past years, I have run radio drama summer school sessions.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
3 hours 20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
YouTube videos about child-appropriate radio dramas may be used to help illustrate how voice actors created sound effects and added emotion to their stories. While YouTube is not intended for visit and use by children under 13 (and thus a non-COPPA compliant resource), Outschool has developed a way for educators to use YouTube videos in their classes in a legally compliant way. All educators need to do is add the YouTube link to their Classroom Post – Outschool embeds the link on its platform so that learners remain on the Outschool platform and don’t access the YouTube website.
