Wild About Cooking (Flex): Marvelous Muffins (Ages 9-13)

In this four-part FLEX class, students will learn how to make four muffin recipes from scratch to share with family and friends. This class will be a combination of PowerPoint, demonstration, discussion (in the Outschool classroom) and will incorporate  video to present the material. Students can participate along as the teacher leads them through the steps of the recipe. In addition to learning new recipes, students will gain confidence and experience in their own kitchen. Students will be asked to share photos and or videos of their final results in the classroom and to participate in classroom discussions. In addition, each week, students will be given the task to create a grocery list using the ingredient list from the teacher, compare what they have in their pantry, and plan out what they need to purchase. Students can upload their completed list to the classroom or create video to post in the classroom to share with their classmates and teacher.

Class 2: Demonstration, video and creation of Blueberry Lemon
Class 3: Demonstration, video and creation of Apple Cinnamon
Class 4: Demonstration, video and creation of Banana Banana

**A Note on How I Teach a Flexible Schedule class:
-In a flexible schedule class, there are class video lessons, discussion questions and activities, posted weekly where students interact with each other within the Outschool classroom. All material will be posted within the platform. 
-Students can post videos, copies of their work and or photos and respond to each other. Each class will vary in size and therefore each lesson and or discussion may vary in the amount of interaction. Students can respond to the discussions at different times. Outschool has learners from all over the world and each learner has a different schedule.
- Each flexible schedule class has a class plan that is posted on the first day of class to allow the learner and families to understand how the class will be facilitated and taught. The plan will highlight when video lessons will be posted, activities and discussion questions. 
-As the teacher, I respond mainly by video so that students can hear and see me. Though at times I will respond by a typed answer. I also will respond to every student within 24 hours of their posting.
