This class will be a combination of PowerPoint within the demonstration video to present the material, discussion in the Outschool classroom, and sharing of the process of baking by the students by the end of the week using video or photos. Students can participate along as the teacher leads them through the steps of the recipe. In addition to learning new recipes, students will gain confidence and experience in their own kitchen. In addition, each week, students will be given the task to create a grocery list using the ingredient list from the teacher, compare what they have in their pantry, and plan out what they need to purchase. Students can upload their completed list to the classroom or create video to post in the classroom to share with their classmates and teacher. Since my twins were extremely young, they have always been in the kitchen with me cooking and creating. We learned to adapt recipes to fit our dietary needs as one of my daughters was diagnosed with severe food allergies as a toddler.
