What's included
3 live meetings
1 hrs 45 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In the first class, we will look at the fundamentals of how our bodies are built to move and what happens, both physically and emotionally, when we are sedentary. From there, we will explore the positive effects exercise can have on the body and mind. Students will be guided through a few activities with the teacher and should have a bit of space to move around in during class. In the second class, we will focus on exercising wisely and will explore many forms of age-appropriate exercise. I will also cover exercises students should avoid until they are older and explain why. For our third and final class, we will discuss basic nutrition, review what the students have learned, and brainstorm on plans for applying these lessons into their lives. I will post charts and graphics in the classroom to deepen students' understanding of the musculoskeletal system.
Learning Goals
The goal of this class will be to equip the student with an understanding and passion for exercising as a way to better their personal health. Through interesting facts, fun trivia and open discussing, students will discover what kind of exercise they like and how to incorporate healthy activity in their lives.
