Why Should I Exercise? (Making Exercise A Part Of Your Life)
In 3 weeks, students will learn what exercise does for immediate and long term health and the effect it can have on moods. Students will have fun, be challenged to think about exercise as a regular part of life and cover basic nutrition.

Description
Class Experience
In the first class, we will look at the fundamentals of how our bodies are built to move and what happens, both physically and emotionally, when we are sedentary. From there, we will explore the positive effects exercise can have on the body and mind. Students will be guided through a few activities with the teacher and should have a bit of space to move around in during class. In the second class, we will focus on exercising wisely and will explore many forms of age-appropriate exercise. I...
The goal of this class will be to equip the student with an understanding and passion for exercising as a way to better their personal health. Through interesting facts, fun trivia and open discussing, students will discover what kind of exercise they like and how to incorporate healthy activity in their lives.
I was taught weight training, yoga and the fundamentals of physical fitness throughout my high school years by my father, who had been a powerlifting trainer for many years. Additionally, I have a degree in massage therapy and holistic health studies, and have taught yoga for more than a decade.
The students will be given simple challenges to try between classes and will be encouraged to discuss/demonstrate what they've learned with their families. No written homework will be required, rather they will be encouraged to apply the things they’ve learned.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Class participation.
35 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
