Every year kids around the world ask their teachers, "Why do we need to learn all this math?" I agree that it feels like a lot of it is not absolutely necessary for all of us. But ALL of us are affected by the math that we do study. We will explore some interesting and funny history of some of the great mathematicians leading up to our current day. Everyone will see how incredibly important math is to our modern day life in 2024. Students will not be "learning" math concepts per se. We will talk about some math concepts along the way. Prerequisite: Learners should be familiar with Pre-Algebra and Algebra concepts like the x and y coordinate grid (x-axis and y-axis) to more fully appreciate the class.

I have Master's in Math Education from Western Governor's University, a Bachelor of Science in Education from Tennessee Technological University, and a teaching license from the State of Tennessee.
I have experience teaching Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Geometry and Pre-Calculus classes in both public and private schools.
I also homeschooled my children for 9 years.
My experience includes professionally tutoring Math for 12 years and 5 years as an Academic Math Coach at Pellissippi State Community College.
I have over 7 years experience tutoring students for the ACT Test in all 4 content areas - English, Math, Reading, Science. Reviews
