Have you ever wondered why a giraffe has a purple toungue? Why is their toungue so long? What do giraffes eat? Students will learn all about Giraffe's features, diet, and habitat. All students are encouraged to participate. Microphones will not be muted unless there is substantial background noise. The lesson will begin by sharing any prior knowledge, facts, and features we know about the giraffe. I will then begin a slide show presentation that has some fun facts relating to the animal from its size, habitat, sleeping patterns, and even how much water they drink. I will ask questions throughout the class to test for knowledge retention. Students will have numerous opportunities each to interact. During the last past of our class, students will be instructed on how to make their own paper bag giraffe, with a tongue. At the end of our lesson, students will have the opportunity to share one new thing they learned about the giraffe with our class.
Learning Goals
Students will learn facts about the giraffe. The geographical location and habitats where giraffes can be found in the wild.
