Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 7
In this fun and engaging class, students will discover why a boat floats on water through discussion and creating their very own boats using tin foil. A slide show will be provided to help guide students in different partner and group discussions. They will be able to identify and explain key terms like buoyancy, density, and water displacement while showing off their unique boats to the class. No background knowledge is required. You will need tin foil, many small objects like pennies and a large container of water. A sink or bucket is fine.
