Chris Martin, a teacher with over 20 years experience, is now an internationally successful playwright and author. For this, his second session based on his first novel (a school-based whodunit for young adults), he's using a section of written text to introduce the concept of 'writing a newspaper/magazine article'. After a fun starter, learners will read a section (from Chapter 8 of the novel) which outlines a 'rather dramatic' playground incident. Learners will then be challenged to assess what happened and write the incident up from a bystander's point of view (as if for a school magazine). The session culminates in a (voluntary) reading/showing of all the articles created. **This is the ‘second of five’ classes based on Chris’ novel ‘Inky Stevens, the Case of the Caretaker’s Keys’. All are standalone sessions which can be accessed in any order, and no prior knowledge of the book is needed (all text is provided). The culprit is ultimately revealed in Lesson 5. This session will ‘not’ be cancelled due to low enrollment.
