In this 6 session class, we will explore science. This can be taken before or after "Look I'm A Scientist" class. This is a science class where the children will be able to be a scientist in their own homes. I will demonstrate all the experiments for the children to be able to do with me. Enjoy experimenting with science.
Each day we will be using different materials. We will need for Day 1: Cool Catapult: 5 narrow craft sticks, 5 small rubber bands, 2 wide craft sticks and either pompoms or marshmallows work best. Day 2: Do eggs sink or float? Can you make a rubber egg? This experiment takes time. You need a jar with a lid, egg, and vinegar. Container with water, deep enough for the egg to sink or float. Day 3: Shaving cream, water, food coloring, eye dropper and a container. How Colors Affect Moods: markers (red, yellow, blue, green, brown and black) and a piece of paper. Day 4: Invisible ink: cotton swab, or paint brush, computer paper and turmeric and rubbing alcohol. Popcorn Dance: (you can follow along or just observe) Glass jar, baking soda, food coloring popcorn kernels and vinegar. Day 5: Fireworks in a Jar and Lava Lamp: mason jar, oil, water, food coloring, vinegar and either seltzer or baking soda. Day 6: Edible Slime: Instant pudding, corn starch, warm water.
