What an exciting time in American History! Not only is Kamala Harris the first female Vice President of the United States, she's also the first African American and person of Asian descent to serve as Vice President. Time to celebrate!

Class Experience

Students will learn various facts about Kamala Harris.
Students will learn the meaning behind the American flag.
Students will express their thoughts while composing a letter to Kamala Harris.
Students should read the book prior to class time. 
 1 file available upon enrollment
Students will need to have read the WhoHQ book titled "Who is Kamala Harris" (ISBN 978-0-593-38448-0) prior to class. Students will need to print off the papers from our classroom, have paper and pencil for writing the letter and a 8 x 12 white piece of construction paper, various shades of blue and red construction/craft paper and, if available, old magazines. Students will use the old magazines to cut pieces of blue and red to make the American Flag.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
