After running my Learning to Love Myself class for girls, I realized that there was a need for guided structured writing, driven by literacy. This class uses the book 365 Days of Wonder, Mr. Brown's Book of Precepts, by RJ Palacio to move boys forward in a growth-minded thinking model. Each class will be driven by a series of quotes, images and writing exercises, as well as peer discussion and active listening exercises. Boys will uncover themes like: How to be a good friend... How to take...
I have created this class separate for boys and girls to encourage conversation and dialogue through some of these challenging discussions. This class will run throughout the course of the year and may be taken more than once. The book 365 Days of Wonder, provides lessons for each day. Students could purchase the book and follow along, as well as complete their own study.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
