Throughout this course, we will explore various tools and techniques to help you better understand and appreciate who you are. From cultivating self-confidence and self-expression to embracing your strengths and passions, we will delve into the powerful process of self-discovery and self-empowerment. Committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment where you can freely express yourself, ask questions, and engage in meaningful discussions, we believe that by embracing your true self, you can unlock your full potential and live a life aligned with your values and aspirations. This course is not about conforming to societal expectations or fitting into predefined molds. It's about embracing your authentic self, celebrating your uniqueness, and charting your own course in this vast world. We encourage you to be unapologetically you, because your authenticity is what makes you truly remarkable. ____________________________________________________________________________________ SESSION ONE | I AM: Developing Self-Awareness and Understanding Self-Perception OBJECTIVE: To help teens develop self-awareness and understand their self-perception. • Strengths | Accomplishments | Talents • What Your Activities and Interests Reveal About You • The Three Perceptions SESSION TWO | HONORING DIVERSITY: Unique Perspectives, Individuality, and Intersectionality OBJECTIVE: To help teens explore their own individuality and foster a sense of pride in their unique qualities, while also appreciating the value of differences and how they contribute to unique perspectives. • Authentically You: Individuality • Unique and Diverse Perspectives • Learning and Growing from Intersectionality SESSION THREE | AT YOUR CORE: Values and Beliefs OBJECTIVE: To help teens identify their core values and beliefs that shape their identity. • Your Core Values and Beliefs • Determining What Makes You… YOU • Determining your inner circle SESSION FOUR | AUTHENTIC SELF: Celebrating Authenticity OBJECTIVE: To empower teens to embrace their authentic selves and foster a sense of self-acceptance. • Presentation Share • Growing and Evolving • Recognizing When Others Value You as Much as You Value Them • Your Identity: Remembering who you are and what you bring to conversations and relationships ________________________________________________________________________ Note: Classes may, at times, run over the scheduled 60 minutes.
Learning Goals

• develop an understanding of how perception dictates reality
• acknowledge there is a difference between how we perceive self, how others perceive us, and how we perceive others’ perception of us
