Students will be directed over several step-by-step lessons to read the book, "Where is the Colosseum?", learn how to take notes during reading, and write a book report on Rome and the Colosseum using a printable template.

Did you know that it took 10 years to build the Colosseum in Rome, Italy? Learn more about Ancient Rome, Italy, and the Colosseum in this comprehensive reading comprehension and book report writing self-paced class. 

Students will follow these step-by-step activities (in 13 detailed lessons):
     1. Learn how to take notes while reading
     2. Read the book, "Where is the Colosseum" and take notes
     3. Take comprehension quizzes
     4. Write the book report using a printable template
     5. cut out and staple the flip-book report and show it off!

The template pages include:
     ~book title info
     ~rating & review
     ~vocabulary
     ~facts
     ~the land (animals & landmarks)
     ~key information (capital, population, languages, climate, agriculture, natural resources, politicians)
     ~what I learned
     ~questions I have
     ~historic events
     ~draw a map

With each book report writing step, students will earn a piece of the secret mystery puzzle - can you guess it before the end of class?

Lesson 1:
Introduction to the Course
 📹 Watch a teacher video about the course and get a broad overview of what to expect (as well as see some photos from my trip to the Colosseum!) 
Lesson 2:
Note-Taking & Paraphrasing
 👀 Watch two YouTube videos on how to take notes and paraphrasing. 
Lesson 3:
Read the Book & Get the Template
 📙 Obtain and read the book, "Where is the Colosseum", as well as print the book report template. 
Lesson 4:
Basic Information & Rating
 ⭐️ Review the book's basic information, enjoy some images, and rate & review the book.
