Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 2
In this class we are going to learn about Contractions and Apostrophes; we will talk about how the two words have letters replaced by the apostrophe. Students will have an opportunity to receive instruction from the teacher; as well as, playing games to practice matching Contractions with the two words that form the Contractions. We will do activities to identify the letters that the Apostrophes replace.
I like learning to be fun! In this class students will have opportunity to interact with their teacher and their classmates while participating in fun activities. I look forward to meeting your students in this class!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello, my name is Parri!
I am so excited to be teaching with Outschool. I hope to teach classes in Phonics, Math, Art, and Sea Glass.
I have been teaching for 28 years; I taught for 25. 5 years in a Brick and Mortar school and for 2.5 years online. I have taught Reading, Language, Phonics, Literature, Spelling, Math, Social Studies, Canadian Studies, and Science. I LOVE teaching Phonics and Reading. Online I have been teaching children ages 4-14 to speak English. I also do tutoring with these ages and in these subjects both online and in person.
I believe teaching should be fun and at the same time assist students to reach their highest potential. I like to teach using games and activities that encourage learning in a fun way! I want my students to know I care about them and their learning.
One of the first classes I hope to teach is one about Sea Glass; I LOVE the beach. Since I was a child, I have been roaming beaches looking for sea glass; I also love making things with the glass too!
I look forward to meeting your child and having lots of fun learning together!
