In this ongoing course, students will use theatre games to improve quick-thinking, teamwork, active listening, and communication skills while creating fun and interesting stories.
Class Experience
We will be playing random group and individual theatre and improv games using the "Wheel of Games," that are not only fun, but also improve skills - communication, quick-thinking, listening, and teamwork - skills that will help students throughout their entire lives. The games are short form improv games similar to 'Whose Line is it Anyway' and will challenge the students mentally, physically, and verbally. New games will be added regularly to ensure that every week is a new experience! No...
The goal of this class is to create an environment where students can be creative without fear of judgement, enabling them to grow intellectually and creatively.
I've been involved in improvisation and educating through the arts since college (over 20 years ago... Yikes!) I've created and run two very successful improv troupes, one in college and one still performing professionally.
Homework Offered
The only homework is for the student to take the games they learn and play them with friends. Spread the joy of improv to others!Assessments Offered
Grades Offered
Content is generated by the students. I do my best to regulate what material is used in class, and make every effort to let the students know what is appropriate and what isn't.
