In this class, we will investigate the small planet of Mercury. We’ll learn about Mercury’s place in the solar system, how it got its name, and just how scalding hot it gets on the surface. Plus, students will find out why Mercury’s weird orbit and rotation rate make the sun do strange tricks in its sky. We’ll also learn about what’s inside this fast-moving planet, and why it’s so hard to see Mercury from Earth. At the start of class, students will write down what they think they know about...
