This class will take an in-depth look at the Great White Shark. Specifics of biology such as Ampullae of Lorenzini, Jaw and Teeth details, Warm-Blooded aspects, and fin and denticle structure. Myths and reality of attacks will be discussed, as well as current research, tagging and tracking efforts. The class will combine PowerPoint, physical examples, and student interaction/discussion. By the end of this class, students will be able to share distinguishing characteristics and behavioral traits of the Great White Shark and how it differs from other species of sharks.
There is no homework assigned with this class, however additional links to online videos will be shared for extra knowledge.
