Class Experience

1. Learners will gain tools that will help them to stay more focused and engaged during conversations
2. Learners will understand that all feelings are okay; there is no such thing as bad feelings.
3. Learners will be able to recognize, name and manage their feelings.
4. Learners will gain tools for resolving conflict with others.
5. Learners will gain tools for maintaining healthy relationships.
6. Learners will gain an awareness of feelings in others.
7. Learners will gain tools for handling bullying.
I have had extensive training in the area of Social Emotional Learning, including Trauma Informed Care and Bullying Prevention. Most of my training has come through CASEL, Second Step, Conscious Discipline, CACE, EdWeb, and Early Childhood Investigations Webinars, 
All work will be completed in class. However, it is suggested that learners practice the tools they are learning with their family and friends, in between classes.
A spiral notebook, composition notebook or journal.
Pen, pencil or other writing utensil
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No formal assessment will be made. Learner progress will be determined through discussions and activities.
2 hours 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
