This course will help students discover the role cellular reproduction plays in genetic variation/diversity. This course is filled with engaging, hands-on learning and will help prepare students for Biology in high school. All lessons are taught through recorded lessons. This course will include presentations, guided notes, videos, reading, writing, graphic organizers, foldables, labs, and demonstrations. I'm a firm believer in creating engaging learning experiences. I've been teaching middle school comprehensive science for four years and I taught 5th-grade science prior to moving to middle school. I currently help design activities that support the 7th & 8th-grade curriculum for all of the science teachers. I will be incorporating reading and writing in this science course as well. I have a master's degree in reading and writing, and I am a firm believer in reading and writing in the content area.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
The course will cover cellular reproduction, which will include asexual reproduction (mitosis) and sexual reproduction (meiosis). If you have any questions about the content, please do not hesitate to contact me.
