Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
In these classes, students will learn and practice the following:
They will learn how to measure, calculate, mix, and cook recipes that they can enjoy after the class.
They will learn the science of why mixing certain ingredients together are essential and what essential ingredients they need for success.
They will practice skills such as hand-eye coordination, problem-solving and math skills.
They will learn about safety in a kitchen and how to use proper protective equipment such as gloves and aprons.
They will receive a mini booklet of the recipe, along with essential terms, tricks, and switch-ups that they can print and keep in a binder for future reference 
Please take a picture of your recipe and add it to your Kitchen Science Club recipe book.
Complete the extra activity and post it on the class discussion.
The following is a list of ingredients for the class. These ingredients can be found in large supermarkets.

short pasta such as macaroni, fusilli 
extra virgin olive oil

boneless and skinless chicken thighs or breasts

cream (or evaporated milk to save calories)

kasoori methi/fenugreek leaves  (optional)
fresh coriander
 vegetable oil

basmati rice
lime juice

mayonnaise
Yellow mustard
chicken drumsticks

shrimps, raw or 2-3 chicken breasts
Jasmine rice

Thai curry powder (or regular curry powder)

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
no assessment, just have fun!
4 hours 35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Safety Requirements: Learners will be using the oven and kitchen equipment. Please monitor them for their safety and have protective equipment such as mitts and aprons available. They may also need assistance using a knife. A safety checklist is included in the master checklist.

Allergy Notes: We make most ingredients that are frequently prone to allergies, such as nuts optional. This allows the parent and child to choose what they would like to add and is not a requirement. The recipes may use dairy products, eggs, and flour. Should you need to alter the recipe, message me privately through Outschool to discuss alternatives.
