Description

Class Experience

In this one time class we will explore food chains and discuss how energy is transferred from one animal to another.  We will start by looking at plants and discovering that they get their energy from the sun.  Then we will move towards talking about herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores.  Finally we will discuss types of decomposers and scavengers.  Throughout our discussion we will focus on how all living things are able to work together to survive.  We will create several food chains...

Students will:
-Understand that all food chains begin with energy from the sun that is transferred to producers
-Understand the different types of consumers 
-Understand how all living things depend on one another for survival

  1 file available upon enrollment-A copy of the printable available upon enrollment
-Crayons, colored pencils, markers, or any type of drawing tool
-Pencil
-A few sheets of blank paper cut into strips to make a paper chain
-tape or a stapler to close the chain once it's made

55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
