Class Experience

Learners will learn how to follow simple, 3 ingredient recipes while using simple kitchen tools to make quick and easy treats to share with friends and family. They will feel confident in their cooking skills and pride in what they have created! They will independently make the choices for flavors to be used. They will use critical thinking skills to develop ideas for how to change the recipe using different flavors or decorations depending on the occasion. They will learn the importance of preparing ahead of time to create a recipe and the importance of cleaning up after themselves.
Between classes each week, students will use use "Flipgrid" to film themselves with their finished products and report on the finished product and taste by answering the following questions:
* Did you enjoy the treats that you made?
* Did you share your treats with family and/or friends? What types of comments did they have after tasting the treats?
* If you make these treats again, what will you do differently next time? Will you use the same flavors? Will you use more or less decorations?
* When would be a good time to make these treats again and why? (For example: I recently had the ingredients and decorations in my home for freezer fudge when my daughter's friends came over for a birthday party sleep over! They made all different flavors of the fudge and then decorated each differently and shared amongst themselves. Every child took some of each kind home to share with their families!)

Learners are requested to respond to 3 other learners comments/answers with comments or questions regarding the other learners' finished products. I will respond to all learners posts with individual comments/suggestions and praise!
