There was no desert. This was Egypt about one million years ago. The people living here raised children, found food, played, and buried their dead. Although they didn't look like us, they are probably our closest human relatives. (Please note: this is not a detailed...
1. How bone fossils, tools, climate change, and most recently, the human genome guide our research of pre-human populations. 2. Why archaeologists and Egyptologists have trouble settling on definite dates for major changes in people and the environment. 3. The recognition that Egypt and the rest of the world had several types of humans existing at the same time. 4. The consideration that gender identity issues most likely applied to pre-Homo sapiens. 5. The notion that we should respect our non-Homo sapien ancestors because they were people in their own right. They invented survival skills most of us wouldn't even attempt, and that their struggles led to the people we are today.
I hold a Diploma in Egyptology from Oxford College in England and a Certificate of Museum Studies from Harvard University. And Iβve been to Egypt three times on personalized, educational tours. I am also a substitute teacher in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I've been captivated by ancient Egypt since I was ten years old. And I feel it's my destiny to share my enthusiasm for and expertise on this beautiful and brilliant 5000-year-old civilization with all of you. I look forward to seeing you soon in this class. I think you'll agree that The Egyptian Room is an attractive, fun and inspiring place to learn. And, please, if you like, call me Ms. Sennuwy - my chosen ancient Egyptian name.

Β 1 file available upon enrollmentI will supply students with a chart of the humans who lived in Egypt long before the pharaohs.
Some of the photos of pre-humans show nudity. And some of the photo images (the faces of pre-humans) may appear very strange to students.
I have used several well-known ancient Egyptian and archaeological research websites for the material in this presentation. β From the Atlantic by Jed Yong (2017) https://newatlas.com/ancient-egyptian-mummy-dna-study/49792/ β The Main Nile Valley at the End of the Pleistocene https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/feart.2020.607183/full β Egypt: History - The Lower Paleolithic http://www.touregypt.net/ebph1.htm β Ancient Egypt Online https://uniavisen.dk/en/the-neanderthals-had-both-climate-issues-and-a-high-degree-of-self-awareness/ β Smithsonian: What does it mean to be human? https://humanorigins.si.edu/evidence/human-fossils/species/homo-erectus β Merritt Ruhlen, writing in 1994 in βThe Origin of Languageβ http://www.actforlibraries.org/homo-erectus-life-abilities-acheulean-stone-tools/ β Lascaux on the Nileβthe Megalithic Portal https://www.megalithic.co.uk/article.php?sid=2146413094 β Phys.org - A snapshot of our mysterious ancestor Homo erectus https://phys.org/news/2019-01-snapshot-mysterious-ancestor-homo-erectus.html
