Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Learners will improve their understanding of the United States both generally (as a country) and specifically (as individual states).
My first college degree is in Secondary Education (grades 6-12) with four concentrations (including biology, Earth science, and life science). My state teaching certificate includes the above certifications along with Generalist (grades EC- grade 4) and Generalist (grades 4-8) which includes all subjects for grades Early Childhood through grade 8. I also homeschooled my two daughters from PreK to graduation in all topics including this one.
Learners may need extra time after class to complete their handouts. Learners will benefit most if they read over any material that they can find about the the topic to be discussed that day prior to the class time.
Students will need colored pencils (or similar) for coloring on their handouts and a pen or pencil for writing facts.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners will be assessed by informal assessment. The students will complete and/or check their handout answers during class. These can also be used by parents as an informal assessment at home after class.
3 hours 40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
