In this 8 week online course, we will discuss each of the states found in the United States of America including location by region, capital city, nickname, weather, population, spelling, and fun facts including state flower, state bird, state insect, state motto, etc.. We will also cover general information about North America including its regions, neighboring countries, and its major landforms, mountains, and bodies of water (divided by east and west) No prior knowledge is required. Hand-outs will be emailed. Each handout with include the name of the state, an outline of the state, and space for completing the following: region, postal abbreviation, capital, nickname, state bird, state flower, and fun facts. Learners may need extra time before or after class to complete their handouts. I have a relaxed teaching style and there will be opportunities for questions during the class.
