Class Experience

This class is designed for young teens to help them gain foundational knowledge of sex from a medical perspective. It is my hope that this class allows for a safe space to provide accurate medical information from a young age to promote healthy and informed decisions in the future. We will discuss the act of sexual intercourse, the effects on the body, and the range of consequences in order for them to appreciate the seriousness of engaging in the act. Learners will be encouraged to ask any questions and I'll be sure to do some myth-busting! My classes are always fun and casual, as this is my teaching style. I encourage free talking and discussion but also create a comfortable environment for the quiet and shy amongst us; you can talk as little or as much as you want! I use conversation, slides and review games to impart the knowledge and encourage questions throughout. You need no prior knowledge to take this course! Please message me if you have any questions!

The general structure of the session will be:
5 minutes introductions/icebreaking/initial questions/describing session objectives
45 minutes covering main topics as seen below (questions will be taken throughout)
5 minutes learners describing what they learnt for the day to ensure clarity and final questions

The topics will include:
1) What causes sexual feelings (hormonal impact, is it ok to not feel it, etc)?
2) Description of the sexual act (hormones involved, anatomical explanation, changes in the male and female body pre- sex)
3) Consequences
    a) The post-sex hormonal connection,
    b) Pregnancy- how babies are made
    c) Brief overview of possible infections
4) Myth-busting!

This beginner class is NOT designed to directly address orgasms, difference in orgasm for men and women, safe sex & contraception, or detailed Sexully Transmitted Infection information. Those are covered in the advanced version. However if questions about these topics arise, age appropriate limited information will be given. Please message me if you have any questions!

This class is designed to introduce you to what really happens during sex because informed decisions are the best decisions!

Parental Guidance
All information imparted will be medically accurate. The intention is to create an accurate foundation of knowledge that can be built upon as they get older. I hope that this will lead to healthy and informed sexual decisions later on in life. This beginner class is NOT designed to directly address organsms, difference in orgasm for men and women, safe sex & contraception, or detailed Sexully Transmitted Infection information. Those are covered in the advanced version. However if questions about these topics arise, age appropriate, limited information will be given. While the objective is to cover sexual intercourse if questions arise about oral sex or related, medically accurate , limited answers will be given. This applies to any other questions as well. I expect a lot of curiousity and encourage it. I believe that accurate information, tailored to age and stage, can only help as they transition through teenage years, rather than misinformation.
