In this one-time course, students will learn what stress is and how to deal with stress in a healthy way. Students will be able to identify when they feel stressed and how to overcome this feeling.

Class experience

Students will improve their understanding of stress, stressors, and how to effectively cope with stress (i.e., coping strategies). 
I hold a Bachelor of Arts Honours Specialization in Kinesiology, I am currently a Teacher Candidate in a Bachelor of Education program in Intermediate/Senior (grades 7-12), and have taken courses regarding mental and emotional health in youth and young adults. I understand the importance of creating an understanding of stress at a young age, and to develop strategies early to deal with everyday stressors. I am a passionate, young teacher who is still in school and understands what youth face today. I am eager to share my passion for health and wellness! 
Curriculum materials will be provided by the teacher. No materials will need to be purchased by the student. 
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
We will be discussing stressors. Students are asked in class to list/draw things that make them feel stressed (this will can only be viewed by the individual student and the teacher).

We will also be discussing some of the long-term impacts of stress.
