In this class, learners will be given a basic overview of pilot experience, designed to invite curiosity and inspire interest in STEM learning. I will show learners some crucial items from my flight bag (headset, pilot log book and map) as well as answer their own unique questions regarding the aviation experience. Learners will also learn about the four forces of flight (lift, weight, thrust and drag) and use them independently by making their own paper airplane. I will give immediate feedback regarding the balance of the four forces of flight. Learners will be able to experiment on their own after completing the lesson.
Learning Goals
Students will understand the four forces of flight and be able to explain their function using a paper airplane.
