US Grade 2 - 5
Beginning our class with introductions and an affirmation to set the tone for our learning environment; we will then be utilizing heavily researched/studied slides to introduce our learning objectives and key points of the lesson. In this class we will focus on the history behind the holiday Independence Day. Through a guided discussion and short video presentation from the historical events and facts associated with Independence Day we will explore a variety of topics like; the The American Revolution, why soldiers were fighting, important historical figures, as well as the importance of celebration for the American culture. In our discussion learners will have the opportunity to not only gain new knowledge on American history and Independence Day but also share their thoughts and opinions around the subject. To recap all that has been learned, a variety of worksheets that highlight vocabulary and summarizing the material are provided for learners.

Learn, discuss, and understand the reason for celebrating Independence Day in the United States

I hold 2 degrees. One in Africana/Black Studies and one in Social Sciences. I am currently enrolled in a masters program for African Studies with a minor in Education. I also homeschool my own children and create all of their history/social studies content.
