Explaining what a "loan" is. What is "debt"? Teaching about money and economics using Minecraft. (No Gameplay. The teacher will show examples from Minecraft)
In this class, a certified teacher and former banker/investment advisor will explain what a "loan" is, what is "debt", how banks loans money to customers, what is a credit score, what are the ramifications of not paying back a loan, what is interest, and how banks make money loaning out money. 

In this class, your child will have a chance to:
- Understand what a "loan" is. 
- How a bank loans money to customers.
- What is interest? 
- How does interest compound over time? 
- How do banks determine "whom" to loan money to. 
- What are the ramifications for not paying back a loan? 
- What are loans used for? 
- What is a credit score? 

Minecraft is a great game to teach the basics of money, trade, the economy, and business. This class does not involve any game playing of Minecraft. The teacher's Minecraft world may be used at times to illustrate concepts to the students. Again there is no game playing by the students.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of these key concepts: What is a loan? What is "debt"? How does a bank decide how much money to loan and to "whom" it will loan money? What is a credit score? What are the ramifications of not paying back a loan?
