Are your students struggling to find a new and interesting book to read? Or maybe they are reading one that is fantastic and would like to share it with others. In this one-time class, students are invited to discuss books they are reading or have read. My goal for this class is to help your learners find books that others have read and recommend some as well. I will feature books that the students in my middle school book club enjoyed as well. This class will be a show and tell style. Students are encouraged to bring their favorite books and talk about why they love them. In this class, I will provide a list of recommended books geared towards the age of each learner enrolled. Giving a brief summary of the books I think students will enjoy, will ensure all students leave class with a few great book titles for future enjoyment. I will then allow time for students to show and tell their own recommended books. We will discuss what each book is about, the genre it fits into, and why your students enjoyed reading it. Learners can bring the book to class and show us it or they are free to just tell the title and author. As an avid reader myself, I feel that even the students who do not share my passion for reading, can find the books that will interest them. Past experience has shown me that reluctant readers just have not found a book that fits their interests yet. I strive to help all readers find content they will enjoy. Hopefully this class will accomplish that goal. Let's find your students their next great read.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about books other students their age are reading and enjoy. They will acquire a list of recommended books for their age group.
Other Details

I also have a bachelor's degree in behavioral science, with a concentration in Psychology. I have completed many English and Writing courses throughout my college adventure as well. I am excited to share my love of reading and writing with your students.
I will be offering mostly reading and writing based classed geared toward all levels. My classes are designed to enhance reading skills. Learners will increase reading fluency and improve comprehension. As for writing courses, learners can gain valuable skills to develop their writing ability in many different genres. While I mostly focus on reading and writing skills, I also offer classes involving animals, Disney movies, dress up, and much more.
I believe that children retain most information if they can connect to the material they are learning about. I strive to create a upbeat, fun classroom where all students feel excepted and free to express themselves. Learning can be fun when taught in creative and exciting ways. All of my offered classes are designed to keep your learners engaged with activities. Learners also participate in discussions and gain instruction in a positive learning environment.
I look forward to meeting your learners soon!
