Description
Class Experience
Jana owns a diverse, regenerative farm called Barking Dog Farm, in Blanco, Texas, and has extensive experience training dogs, including livestock guardian dogs. She will give the learners a brief virtual tour of the farm. She will then share information about species and breeds and their usefulness on a farm using Google Slides while the learners will record thoughts to share in their personal journals for an interactive online class experience. By the end of the class, learners will have knowledge about the role of a livestock guardian animal, and will understand the importance of training the animal properly in order for the animal to do their job well and keep the livestock safe, and they will have a baseline knowledge of breeds to choose for specific farm jobs.
Paper or journal and writing utensil for drawings and notes
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
