Class Experience

Learners will improve their understanding of the two major types of whales, the nine most common whales, their special body parts, and how they compare to other mammals.
I have taught science at all grade levels in public schools home schools and college. My first college degree is in Secondary Education (grades 6-12) with four concentrations (including Biology, Earth Science, and Life Science) so I am certified to teach this subject at those levels. I am also certified as a EC-Grade 4 Generalist and a Grades 4-8 Generalist.
Learners may need extra time after class to complete their hand-outs. Learners will benefit most if they read over any material that they can find about whales prior to the class time.
NOTE: I do NOT receive additional benefits through commissions or the like. I am NOT an affiliate for any website or subscription company package NOR am I an owner of any online store. Each learner will need to purchase their own book about whales. The specific book needed can be found at this website: <> . Additional hand-outs will be provided prior to the class.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Learners will be assessed by informal assessment. A handout will be provided before the first class. The students will complete this during class. This handout can also be used by parents as an informal assessment at home after class.

A vocabulary quiz can be found at
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
No account is needed for the Quizlet website. Use of this website is optional and not a required part of the course.
We will be using some materials from the websites listed below. Learners are encouraged to study the websites before and/or after this class meets. Parental supervision for any online computer activities is always recommended.
