What's included
1 live meeting
30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
English has many idioms. In this class we will be learning the meaning of many idioms and where they come from. We've all heard the idioms: "You woke up on the wrong side of the bed." "Put a sock in it." "Show your true colors." But most people don't know where the idioms come from. We will play games to learn the meaning of idioms and we will where these sayings come from. Why does "sleep tight" mean to have a good nights sleep? Why does dad call his boss a "big wig". Learners will be participating in a slide show. They will view images and try to guess the idiom. We will discuss the meaning together. Lastly, we will be discussing the history of the idiom.
Learning Goals
Learners will improve their speaking and listening skills by better understanding idioms and learning the history of each one.
