Description
Class Experience
We will cover cultural differences in the classroom, academic expectations and ideology, and academic writing. Class 1: This first class is all about culture and how to successfully find the help and information you need from your teachers. We will discuss the expectations and what your teachers will be thinking so you know how to adapt in a classroom. We will then have a short, interactive quiz to open discussion about example scenarios they may encounter. Finally, we will discuss questions...
Students will learn how to navigate Western academia, its culture, conventions, and protocols, develop critical thinking, and successfully write a college essay.
I helped prepare many Chinese students go on to study in the West as I taught IELTS reading and writing, English composition, and literature, as well as several other subjects to middle school, high school, and university students.
