Bundle up as we venture outside to embrace the Winter solstice with themed songs, weekly topics, and natural crafts. 
Our Wild & Tree Explorers are encouraged to sing along, match hand movements, answer questions, and create their own artistic approach to the weekly crafts.
All subjects are focused on natural elements with a holistic approach.

4 Lessons
over 4 Weeks
Lesson 1:
Pinecone Bird Feeder
 *Tweet, tweet, tweet* We spy hungry birds sitting in the trees, lets build a bird feeder together so they won't go hungry.

Lesson 2:
Twig Trees
 We will collect fallen twigs to reconstruct miniature trees for imagination play.

Fallen Leaf Garland
 We will string together fallen leaves to display in your play space.

Lesson 4:
Ice Ornaments
 We will collect natures treasures in a container; muffin tin, ice cube tray, glass dish, etc., place ribbon, string, yarn or twine in the container, and fill with water. Freeze over night to decorate the outside trees.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
1. Extra precautions are needed when assisting Explorers with assembling their pinecone bird feeders; scissors, butter knives/spoons, bird seed, pinecone, (due to allergies, choice in spreads) peanut, almond, cashew, walnut, pecan, or sunflower butter, etc. 2. Monitor while using glue and breaking twigs as needed during the constructing the twig trees. 3. Assistance with scissors to cut ribbon, string, yarn, or twine with stringing together fallen leaves to create garland. 4. Guidance with collecting and freezing natures treasures and hang safely on outside trees.
Supply List
Explorers will need the following supplies:
1. 1 pinecone, scissors, butter knife or spoon, bird seed, (due to allergies, choice in spreads) peanut, almond, cashew, walnut, pecan, or sunflower butter, etc., bowl or plate, and material to hang their feeder; ribbon, string, yarn, or twine.
2. Non-toxic washable glue and ribbon, string, yarn, or twine.
3. Ribbon, string, yarn, or twine.
4. Muffin tin, ice cube tray, glass dish, or similar container. String, ribbon, yarn, or twine, and water.

Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Rasmussen University
I have my Associates degree in ECE, CDA focused in preschool aged learners, and currently earning my Bachelors degree in ECE Leadership. I have had the honor of working with children from 6 weeks to 4 years old in varies styles of classrooms and focused curriculum. Along with schooling my own children, 5 and 7 years old, I encourage my teaching style to embrace the outdoors and natural elements.
