Class Experience

Welcome! This class is a one-time meeting for an introduction to fractions. This class is a great trial class for students who will be signing up for in-depth fraction classes, about to be learning fractions in school, or any student with interest in understanding the concept of fractions in our everyday lives. The class will be taught using multisensory techniques, with an extensive focus on visual manipulation of fractions. The is a 40 minute class, which will be divided into introduction,...

Students will understand the vocabulary "part and whole" when discussing fractions. Students will be able to create their own fractions using visuals and numerical values.

Students will need a sheet of paper, pencil, and crayons/colored pencils. 
A worksheet will be provided at the time of the lesson.

40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
