In this one-time class students will receive an introduction to Microsoft Word & learn foundational skills to create a project called "My Favorite Moment."
Class experience
Welcome to Word! In this one-time class students will be given an introduction to some of the key features and tools of Microsoft Word. Topics to be covered in this class include a brief overview of the File, Home, & Insert Ribbons (e.g. opening, saving and printing documents, clipboard, font, paragraph, styles, illustrations, tables, header/footer etc.) Classes will be taught via zoom with class time allotted for teaching, questions, and creating the class project. Students will gain knowledge of basic features of the File, Home, and Insert Ribbons in Microsoft Word.
I have three years of experience teaching Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) to students in the K-12 school system. Class lessons were always tailored to each student's learning needs to help them succeed and learn to the best of their ability.
Homework Offered
Student's will be assigned a class project to complete in class and hand in for review. If students do not complete the project during the class time they will be able to continue working on the project on their own and then later submit the project to the teacher for review. During this time students are welcome to contact the teacher with any questions.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Student's projects will be reviewed and marked based on a rubric including the major skills taught in the class lesson highlighting what skills have been mastered and what skills need further practice and improvement.Grades Offered
All students will need access to Microsoft Word for this class lesson. A handout will be provided to students listing the skills and tools used in the class lesson that can be used as a reference. Students will receive a copy of the rubric used to assess their skills applied on the class project.
