Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
In this one-time class we will learn about the planet Mars. Students will explore its similarities and differences with Earth, its unique planetary properties, and why scientists are so fascinated by the Red Planet!

We will investigate questions such as:

What is Mars made from and how did it form?
How is Mars different from the other terrestrial planets?
What has Mars taught us about Earth?
How has the planet changed over time?
How do we study Mars?
Is there or was there life on Mars?
Could humans live on Mars?

We will also discuss the recent landing of Perseverance Rover and what other current missions are at Mars.

The class is lecture and discussion based. Learners will view and participate in a presentation full of images and some videos. They will have the opportunity to ask questions and think critically about the Martian system!
