Class Experience
This dynamic 8-week course is designed to help students explore career options, discover their strengths, and gain essential skills for their future. Through interactive discussions, hands-on activities, career assessments, and guided self-reflection, learners will develop a deeper understanding of potential career paths and the steps needed to achieve their goals.

What Will Be Taught?
Students will explore different career fields, essential workplace skills, and educational pathways. They will also complete career assessments and personality tests to align their interests with potential careers and create a step-by-step plan for success.

How is the Class Structured?
Class Length: 8 weeks, 1 session per week (50 minutes per session)

Class Size: Small groups 2-8 students for personalized learning

Format: Live instruction via Zoom with interactive elements

Lesson 1:

Week 1: Career Exploration

 In our first session, we will introduce ourselves and discuss hobbies, interests, and skills to start exploring potential career paths. Students will share their ideas of dream jobs and future aspirations while engaging in fun activities designed to help them recognize their strengths. This session will set the foundation for deeper career exploration in the coming weeks.

Lesson 2:

Career Assessment Review

 Students will review their career assessment results and discuss what careers, skills, and interests emerged. We will explore whether they agree with their results and how their personal preferences align with different career paths.

Week 3: Career Exploration by Industry

 We will explore a variety of career fields, including technology, healthcare, creative arts, and business. Students will learn about different industries, job roles, and the skills required for success in each.

This class will use third-party career assessment tools and websites to explore their interests and strengths. These tools are free and do not require creating an account. Links will be provided during class, and parental guidance is encouraged to ensure students navigate the assessments safely and appropriately. Additionally, discussions about career choices and future planning will be handled in a supportive and age-appropriate manner.

Throughout my career, I have worked with youth and adults in both academic and community settings, guiding them in discovering career paths that align with their strengths and interests. I have also taught career exploration workshops in schools, after-school programs, and workforce development initiatives, ensuring students and professionals are equipped with the tools to make informed career choices.

My passion lies in helping students avoid costly mistakes by choosing careers that truly match their skills and aspirations. By working with learners one-on-one and in group settings, I provide engaging, hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for success in their future endeavors.
