Welcome to Weird Weapons of World War II. In this one-time class, learners will learn about some of the less than successful wartime innovations from the second World War. This class is taught in English.
Students will learn about some of the less successful innovations of World War II.
The instructor is employed at a World War II submarine museum, and regularly works to educate students about military history through historically contextualized, and age appropriate information.
No homework is required.
No supplies are required for this class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No assessment is administered.
45 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
Most of these weapons did not see any combat action, however, the balloon bombs were used and a family in Oregon was killed when they encountered one of these explosives. This fact will be mentioned briefly in class, and will be contextualized with the statistics surrounding the deployment of these balloon bombs during the second World War. Additionally, the bat bomb does utilize actual bats in their explosive endeavors.
