In this course consisting of 8 weekly 45 minute classes, we will create our own unique weird nature drawings. We will take inspiration from all the strange and wonderful things we see in our gardens everyday like flowers that look like dragons, plants that eat insects and more. Each session we will discuss a different variety of weird plant, draw it together and even invent our own strange species. This course is great for beginners as we will go through each step of the drawing together using some fun and easy drawing techniques such as using simple shapes to create form, drawing shadows and using colour. English language learners are encouraged to join as all of my classes are completely ESL friendly. All we need are some pencils, paper, a sharpener, an eraser and our fantastic imaginations! Course Schedule: Week 1, January 10th: Introduction to drawing shapes and creating shadows. Draw simple flower using beginner's drawing techniques. Week 2, January 17th: Poisonous Plants. Use the drawing techniques explored lesson 1 to draw a poisonous plant together. Week 3, January 24th: Weird Still Life and Colour Exploration. We will draw a simple floral still life using coloured pencils. Week 4, January 31st: Weird Insects. We will discuss some of the strange little creatures found in exotic jungles and rain forests around the world, then we will draw them together. Week 5, February 7th: Weird Sea Creatures. We will discuss some of the strange creatures found in the depths of the ocean and draw them together. Week 6, February 14th: Plants in Space. In this class we will invent our own space plants. It could be a fruit tree from Jupiter, our imaginations are the only limit. Week 7: February 21st: Plant Self Portrait. We will imagine ourselves as a brand new species of plant and draw a plant self portrait together. Week 8, February 28th: Into the Weird Garden. We will complete a drawing including all the themes explored throughout the course to design our own garden full of real and imagined plants and creatures.
