In this 6 unit self-paced class, students will learn about different aspects of weather, complete crafts and science experiments to enhance their learning, and answer quiz questions based on what they have learned.

Homework
1 hour per week. Each unit will consist of a 15 minute video that includes a craft and/or science experiment. There will also be a quiz that should take around 10 minutes.
Assessment
Students will be assessed based on their participation and engagement in the class.

Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 3
In this 6 unit self-paced course, students will be introduced to different aspects of weather (the water cycle and clouds, rainbows, snow, natural disasters, thunder and lightning.) 
Each unit consists of 1-2 videos that will contain a vibrant slide show and engaging lecture, as well as a step by step explanation and demonstration of that unit's  craft and/or science experiment. Each video will be about 15 minutes long. 
The students will also complete a short quiz after the lesson, which will be posted in the classroom along with the lesson. The answer sheet will be posted as well, so the students may check their answers.

This is a self-paced class. All lessons are pre-recorded and students complete the tasks at their own pace.

Experiment: Balloon static electricity

No prior knowledge about weather is required in order to participate in this class.

6 Lessons
over 6 Weeks
Lesson 1:
The Water Cycle and Clouds
 This lesson will cover all the steps of the water cycle. Students will complete an evaporation observation experiment. They will learn about the 4 main types of clouds. Students will create a cloud craft.

Lesson 2:
All About Rainbows
 This lesson will begin with an overview on how rainbows are formed. Simple science experiments will be demonstrated on how to create your own rainbow. Students will learn the colors of a rainbow in order. Students will create a rainbow craft.

Lesson 3:
All About Snow
 This lesson will focus on how snow is formed, why snow looks white, and different types of precipitation. Students will then follow along to create paper snowflakes.

Lesson 4:
Natural Disasters Part 1
 This lesson will cover: tornados, hurricanes, landslides, avalanches, blizzards, and droughts. Students will then play a game of "Name That Weather!" Finally, students will complete a tornado in a jar science experiment.
