Within this month long, weekly writing camp experience, your child will be able to write his or her own story using ideas that have happened in his life or imaginative ideas he/she may decide to build from his own mind. The teacher will guide your children through the writing process as she models her own thinking and uses the fine tuned writing of published authors (their books) to model expert writing techniques. This class is taught in English.
Outschoolers will be able to write a narrative, story writing piece with a beginning, middle, and end, using ideas taught and inspired by Mrs. Jenny and other published authors' work.

Students will work on a plan or a paragraph of writing each week. Paragraphs can vary in size, length, and sentences depending on the level of each child.
1 file available upon enrollmentStudents will need pencil and paper. I will provide handouts, if needed. The books are absolutely not necessary for this writing camp. We will only look at small portions of the text, which I will display for all students to see.
Students will use a rubric to self-assess their completed writing piece.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
